Mr. Klocanas spent his early career in the banking industry, focusing on the technology, media and telecommunications sectors across Nomura, Credit Agricole and Bank of America from a M&A perspective, before joining Barclays in London in equity research and covering fintech, payments and banks, where he was first exposed to the cryptocurrency space as of 2014. In 2017, following his MBA, Mr. Klocanas moved into the blockchain industry as a Director in Strategy at ConsenSys and Business Development Lead at Meridio (now ConsenSys Codefi) where he worked on prominent projects such as one of the first security tokens issued on the Ethereum mainnet, as well as in various consulting roles at Blockstack and Coinhouse. In recent years, Mr. Klocanas helped structure, raise and run White Star Capital’s fifty million dollar Digital Asset Fund, where he deployed the fund across 18 companies including Ledn, Paraswap, Rally, Alethea, and Superfluid. Today, he runs BlockTower's one hundred fifty million dollar VC fund, a next-generation venture investment fund applying the skills of crypto-native and traditional venture to the rapidly evolving web3 spaceMr. Klocanas earned a bachelor’s degree from Bocconi University in 2012, a master’s degree from HEC Paris in 2015 and an MBA from Columbia Business School in 2018.
