Sean Bonner designed and released records for punk bands like Bad Brains, Integrity, and Hot Water Music before shifting his attention to the art world, producing exhibitions with artists like Glen E. Friedman, Space Invader, and Shepard Fairey, who he still works with on web3 exploration for Obey Giant. A published author, exhibited artist, and vocal activist, Bonner cofounded the environmental nonprofit Safecast and recently, along with DJ Muggs, cocreated the CryptoPunk-fronted virtual musician 8tari. He’s been an associate professor at Keio University and a researcher at the MIT Media Lab, despite having dropped out of college to chase the punk-rock dream.
