Oscar Wendel has been based in Dubai since 2008. His career includes being Senior Content Manager at the Financial Times in London, Senior Manager of Content & Conferences at Dubai World Trade Centre, serving as a Director reporting to the CEO of MCH Group in Basel, a publicly listed company most famous for Art Basel, and launched the global music initiative 'Intraplanetary National Anthem' at COP28. Wendel holds a Master's degree in business from Stockholm University and a Master's degree in literature from Uppsala University. He is a writer and columnist for business journals covering technology, innovation, geopolitics, and culture. He has reported from Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and interviewed prominent political and industry leaders. In 2023 he launched AstroCool with David Chaum, a research project exploring space technologies to shield Earth from the sun.
