Bay Backner is Head Producer & Curator for the Decentraland Foundation, where she leads the program of annual cultural events and immersive virtual experiences for Decentraland, the social virtual world. As Assistant Professor in Emerging Technologies at Berklee, Bay also mentors the next generation in spatial computing and virtual entertainment. A graduate of Oxford University with a degree in Physics, she previously founded MESHfair, the art fair for 3D, VR, and metaverse creators, and Vueltta, an international art collective for virtual installation. Bay has produced landmark web3 events such as Decentraland Game Expo, Metaverse Art Week, and Decentraland Music Festival, with her work featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue, WIRED, and CNN. She is passionate about exploring how shared virtual experiences are reshaping culture and identity. Her current project is Metaverse Fashion Week 2025.
