Tom Sachs Is Coming To NFT Paris

It's an absolute honor for Tom Sachs to be joining us at NFT Paris 2023!

Tom Sachs, a legendary sculptor and the founder of Rocket Factory, will be speaking live at the NFT Paris Conference.

Without further ado, let's get right into it!

Tom Sachs & Sculpting

Tom Sachs is a well-known sculptor, and has been working on high-profile projects since the 1990s. His work is mainly about reimagining modern 'icons', and re-creating them with spectacular creativity.

The sculptor's work has been displayed at a multitude of places, with dozens of exhibitions and public collections all over the world, including his famous "Space Program" which had multiple renditions over the years. Tom's obsession with spacecraft and work in the "Space" (pun intended, haha) will eventually lead him to the creation of Rocket Factory - we'll get to that in a bit.

Over the decades, Tom has partnered with the most iconic brands in the space, sculpting models of very familiar things and figures. From historic architecture to our childhood fairytales, here are a handful of his works:

- Big Fashion: HG (Hermés Hand Grenade) as part of his first major exhibition "Cultural Prosthetics"

- Space: Reconstructing NASA's moon landing plan, his fifth edition as part of the Space Program series

- Hello Kitty: Reconstructed in bronze casts, a foam-core structure of Hello Kitty reimagined

Despite a long career, Tom Sachs is nowhere near finished with his building. It's apt that a builder like him would experiment with new things and tech, which leads us to his venture into NFTs - Rocket Factory.

How Rocket Factory Flew To The Moon

Rocket Factory is a passion project by Tom Sachs. As implied from his previous endeavors, it's pretty clear to me that this builder is truly passionate about all things space, and Rocket Factory through NFTs can help spread this passion.

Tom Sach's Rocket Factory (TSRF) is one-of-a-kind. Some say it revolutionized NFT art and gave the space something different to experiment with. Here's how it works.

In essence, each Rocket comprises three components, the nose cone, the body, and the tail assembly. Putting them together, one would form their unique rocket. So, you would have to gather these 3 NFTs and assemble them on TSRF's website.

Upon request, you could even have your rocket built in real life by the team at TSRF, and see it get launched... it works! Personally, I felt that this idea of building your own rocket and seeing it fly in real life (perhaps even getting to keep the rocket) was the major selling point.

Sure enough, the project took off, making the TSRF team millions, and curators a hell of an experience.
