Here's our content in-brief:
Without further ado, let's jump straight into the piece!
MakersPlace is a crypto art marketplace where creators can launch collections for their fans. In essence, they're empowering creators (or Makers), by giving them an authentic platform to sell their digital art.
Founded by Dannie Chu (ex Y-Combinator and Pinterest) in 2018, MakersPlace has established themselves as a leading NFT marketplace, focused on digital art and budding creators.
Being one of the most reputable NFT marketplaces in this young industry, MakersPlace has already accomplished a lot. For example:
Most recently, MakersPlace launched a campaign called the "WXw3 accelerator program", an effort to highlight women and non-binary creators in the web3 space. So, how would this work?
First off, MakersPlace is partnering with three NFT projects, World of Women, Eyes of Fashion, and The Fabricant, and organizing the “Women in Web3 breakfast.” The event will take place from 8:30 am-11:30 am, 24th Feb 2023, at the NFT Factory in Paris. In fact, this is a side event part of our NFT Paris 2023 conference!
If you're interested in seeing a 52-screen curation of NFT artwork by works from female and non-binary web3 creators, definitely come down to the event and have a gander! Furthermore, there is also an educational workshop on the next day starting at 3:00 pm. Feel free to check out the program guide for more information.
The WXw3 is a meaningful initiative organized by MakersPlace, World of Women, Eyes of Fashion and The Fabricant with the intent to bring more eyes to works by female and non-binary artists. We appreciate what MakersPlace is doing for the good of the web3 industry!
Aside from the WXw3 program, MakersPlace will also be organizing other activities at the main NFT Paris event.
For example, there will be a MakersPlace Booth located in the Art Corner at Grand Palais Éphémère. Here, you can experience cutting-edge NFT art and immerse yourself in their salon-style exhibition space at NFT Paris featuring works by Javier Arrés, Léo Caillard, and a selection of creators curated by WhaleShark.
They also have a workshop at 3:00 pm, titled "A.A. Murakami Workshop" (Workshop Stage), and an AR Poster Signing by A.A. Murakami (at the installation) from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
On Day 2, MakersPlace CEO Craig Palmer will speak on the Main Stage on a panel titled “Going Beyond JPG” about innovative uses for NFT technology.
A few other of their activities and time slots include:
- MakersPlace Booth, Friday/Saturday, February 24–25, 9:00 am-7:30 pm

More information about A.A. Murakami’s installation - The Passage of Ra, presented by MakersPlace :
In Egyptian mythology, Ra traveled every evening on a solar barge through the underworld in order to rise again each morning.
Inspired by this concept, The Passage of Ra is a new NFT installation by A.A. Murakami that juxtaposes the ephemeral nature of a moment with the immutable permanence of the blockchain.
Physical fog rings and their digital twins are simultaneously fired toward a digital generative seascape.
As the physical rings hit the screens, their digital twins appear – rippling the surface of the water in the generative scene before sailing off into the infinite horizon.
Debuting at NFT Paris 2023, this installation is the first of a series of immersive NFTs that bring to life what A.A. Murakami has termed the ‘Mataverse.’ Distinct from a Metaverse, which is a virtual world, a Mataverse is a multi-sensory physical environment that also exists on the blockchain.
MakersPlace will be organizing a blast at NFT Paris. Don’t miss out!
MakersPlace is a platform for creators to sell their works with a seal of authenticity and has made a name for itself in the NFT industry. We also appreciate their works for the public good, such as the WXw3 accelerator program to empower female and non-binary creators in web3.
